Margrethe Pettersen

Margrethe Pettersen is a Norwegian-Sami artist and florist who seeks to challenge the modern perception that separates culture from nature. In her process-oriented work Pettersen uses a specific place, a plant or a river as starting point for sensing, mapping, collecting knowledge, stories and sounds. Learning new skills, talking to people from different professions (scientist, botanist, biologist) can also be part of the process.

For BOTANIK, Pettersen has developed a performative lecture and ritual focusing on the tinder fungus (douvli).
