Kunstrum Fyn`s Art and Science Festival 2026
Dates: August 22 – 23, 2026.Under overfladen/Subsurface
Welcome to Art & Science Under the Dark Sky 2026 – Under overfladen/Subsurface!
With Under overfladen/Subsurface, Kunstrum Fyn seeks to shed light on the precarious situation we face and for which we are all responsible, when the sea and our groundwater are polluted by industry, agriculture and climate change. In the festival, the audience meets artists and researchers who in various ways examine tensions around natural resources, management and vulnerability, especially related to marine and water resources. For a country like Denmark and an island like Funen, which is surrounded by the sea, rising sea levels are a serious threat, just as groundwater is a vital resource for drinking water and agriculture.
The festival program in 2026 consists of a group exhibition, artist talks, lectures, performance and music.
Kunstrum Fyn`s festival Under the Dark Sky conveys art at the intersection between people, nature and science, and takes its starting point in the surrounding nature, agriculture and ocean. The festival, which is open and free for all, is organized for the third time by Kunstrum Fyn the weekend of August 22 – 23.
